For the COVID-19 outbreak, PacificSource is joining providers to expand access to virtual doctor visits. Getting care by phone or video allows you to stay at home, which helps reduce the spread and ensure that you’re getting the care you need.


In the fight against COVID-19, telehealth services give you a way to:

  • Talk to a doctor by phone or video.
  • Feel confident about receiving doctor care from home.
  • Reduce exposure, save time, and avoid crowds.

What is telehealth—and how do I connect?

Sometimes called telemedicine, remote care, or virtual care, telehealth is an appointment with a doctor by phone or video. Many providers—including doctors and mental health professionals—are available to connect through a telehealth appointment. To find out how your doctor’s office is set up to offer a telehealth option, contact them directly or check their website.


If you need care from a medical health professional

The doctor you normally see in person may be available to consult by phone or video. If you or a loved one has an ongoing health problem, it’s best to contact the doctor before showing up in person. If you’re not feeling well or have physical or mental health concerns, these are the recommended options for getting care:

  • Call your doctor or provider’s office first before going in.
  • Call our 24-Hour NurseLine at (855) 834-6150, TTY (844) 514-3774.
  • Check with your doctor to see if telehealth services are available. For members who have Teladoc® as part of their plan, call (855) 201-7488.
  • Call 911 if you are experiencing an emergency.

Members pay $0 for COVID-19-related testing diagnosis, and treatment

COVID-19-related telehealth sessions are available to members at no cost. Plus, additional telehealth services are being made available at the same cost shares you would pay during an in-person visit:

  • Behavioral health (including therapy and substance abuse)
  • Speech therapy
  • Occupational and physical therapy

Contact your doctor if you have an upcoming appointment

Many doctors’ and dental offices are changing schedules because of the COVID-19 crisis. Some offices are adding safety rules to help protect patients and staff. To find out if your appointment is changing, contact your provider’s office.
