Good points! Something else to consider is that not all drinks are created equal. When I feel a little dehydrated I grab a medical grade electrolyte drink. Usually just when I’m sick or if I’ve been working out a lot and sweating. I prefer http://www.normalyte.com for my oral rehydration salt because they use a recipe from the World Health Organization that works more effectively than sports drinks or whatever. I found that sports drinks have too much sugar and not enough electrolytes to really handle my hydration needs.
