October brings us the unofficial start of candy season, which means you’re likely to see more candy than usual around your office. Candy and treat sharing is usually done with the best of intentions; however, it can make it difficult for employees who are working on maintaining a healthy diet, attempting to lose weight, or managing their diabetes.

This season, encourage fellow employees to find alternative ways to share extra candy.

Here are two ideas to get you started:

  • Donate to Operation Gratitude to limit the excess candy in your office and give back to those who defend our country.
  • Provide opaque candy jars or tins in lunch and break rooms for candy that still finds its way into the office. Limiting the visibility of treats in the office can go a long way in helping those who are flexing their willpower muscles during candy season.
